Region Ten Family Wellness is excited to announce our new parenting support programs:
Family Check-Up and Everyday Parenting!
What is Family Check-Up?
Family Check-Up (FCU) is a brief, 3-session, strengths-based intervention model for children ages 2 through 17. It promotes positive child outcomes such as decreased substance use and increased school attendance by improving parenting and family management practices. Parents who participate in the FCU complete an assessment and receive feedback to help identify strengths and areas for improvement in parenting.
What is Everyday Parenting?
Everday Parenting (EP) is parent management training, which focuses on positive behavior support, healthy limit setting, and relationship building. This is scheduled individually between parents and the family wellness staff, and is based on the results of the FCU assessment. Families can only participate in EP after completing the FCU assessment.
Who can refer to Family Check-Up?
Anyone! Parents are encouraged to fill out the referral form themselves, or schools, nurses, social workers, and other helping professionals can assist a family in accessing this program.
